Judith Ann Stepp, 73, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, February 4, 2017, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born January 14, 1945, in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Norma Macke Miller. Judith married the love of her life, Ronald E. Stepp, on June 1, 1963, in Marshall, Illinois, and he survives. They enjoyed 54 years of marriage.
She is also survived by one daughter, Tahnya (Benjamin) Ford of Jacksonville, and one granddaughter, Teri Black of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by one sister, Myrna Miller.
Judith grew up on a small farm near Marshall, Ill. Following marriage, she became an executive secretary at Sangamon Paper Co. in Taylorville, Ill. After becoming a mother, she devoted her life to raising her daughter and lovingly caring for her family and many others. She was a gracious and very giving person. She was a consummate knitter, crafter and an avid gardener, and built many flower and rock gardens. Her labor of love was shown at her home at the Taylorville Garden Walk. She collected rocks from their many travels over the years. Her Christian faith engendered a loving, giving character and devotion to her loving Creator.
There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Williamson Funeral Home and will conclude with a time of sharing. Private interment will be held at a later date. The Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
