Janet Marie (Davis) Blackstone, 59, of Cumming, Ga, formerly of Pana, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born June 4, 1958 in Independence, Mo. to the late Walter and Marie (Mose) Davis. She married Donald L. Blackstone, Sr. on March 29, 1996 in Taylorville, Ill. March 29 would have marked their 22nd wedding anniversary although they had been together for 33 years.
After completing Cosmetology School, she was a hair stylist for over 30 years. She also spent over nine years as a bus driver for the Forsyth County Schools Transportation Department and managed a Lil Ceaser’s Pizza Place. Her hobbies included bowling and boating but most importantly spending time with her family.
Janet is survived by her husband Donald; children: Amy Ruth Blackstone, Donald L. (Heather) Blackstone, Jr., Marjorie (Shannon) Blackstone-Tucker, Daniel J. Blackstone, Brandon Roy Blackstone, Steven Tyler Blackstone, Aaron Edwin Blackstone and Andrew Benjamin Blackstone; 11 grandchildren; brother Dick Davis; sister Norma (Joe) Cervi; sister-in-law Alice Davis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Jim Davis; sister Barb Rodman; and niece Savannah Cervi.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ava Witsman officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. ww.mdfh.com
