Wayne C. Miller, 74, of Pana, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in his home. He was born August 14, 1943 in Nokomis to the late Clark and Ida (Harms) Miller.
Wayne was a graduate of Nokomis High School, Class of 1961. He attended Barber College in Springfield and then operated a barber shop in Ohlman. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968, where he worked in the missile division and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Air Force, he worked at Mallory’s in Pana.
Wayne Miller and Joann Eck were married on November 18, 1972 and celebrated 45 years together this past November. Wayne enjoyed his work as a farmer and an electrician.
Wayne was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana; Roy Ireland American Legion Post #317, Oconee; and a lifetime member of the Pana VFW. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his grandsons and mowing yards.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Miller, Pana, Ill.; daughters: Lori (Ron) Ambrose, Rosamond, Ill.; Dana (Jason) Cloe, Oconee, Ill.; Jodi (Joe) Clark, Evergreen, Colo.; and five grandsons: Andrew and Derrek Ambrose, Wyatt and Dylan Cloe, and Joseph Clark.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Terrence E. O’Brien officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery with military rites by Roy Ireland American Legion Post #317, Oconee. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. www.mdfh.com
