Marie Annette Watts, 71, of Springfield, daughter of Paul Eldon Pearson and Edna Hancock Pearson, passed away on September 25, 2018. She was born on September 25, 1947 in Decatur to Edna Hancock Bantner Pearson.
Marie was a graduate of Taylorville High school class of 1965 and was a United States Army Veteran. She worked for the State of Illinois Department of Human Services, retiring in 2002. Marie was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and The American Legion Post #32.
Mrs. Watts is survived by her children: Erika (Cris) Eich of Springfield, Chris (Tara) Watts of Pawnee, her mother Edna Pearson of Taylorville, five grandchildren: USAF SSgt Gage Eich stationed in England, Chase Eich of Springfield and Jordan, Kaiden and Carson Watts all of Pawnee, four brothers: Jim Bantner of Fort Worth, Texas, Stan (Trish) Bantner of Springfield, Charles (Tammy) Pearson of Decatur and Paul “Lenny” (Becki) Pearson of Sevierville, Tennessee, three sisters Patricia Santini of Euless, Texas, Paula Higgenbotham of Taylorville, and Joy Wreatha DeMars of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Paul Eldon Pearson.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday October 1, 2018 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, Springfield, Ill. The family will greet friends following the service from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A military graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, in Springfield.
