Jo Anne May, 85, of Decatur, Ill., passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Generations at McKinley Place, Decatur.
Jo Anne was born June 8, 1933, in Stonington, Ill., the daughter of Albert “Jack” and Helen (Young) Bollinger. A farmer’s wife and member of Ss. James & Patrick Parish, Jo Anne drove a school bus for Stonington schools for 14 years. She married Bernard J. May on June 9, 1951 in Stonington and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2002.
Surviving are her children: Jackie Frost (Tim Kearney) of Springfield, Joe May, Jr. (Jennifer) of Stonington, John May (Meg) of Wentzville, Mo., Jan Nichols (Jimmie) of Decatur, Jim May of Taylorville and Jason May (Cathy) of Collierville, Tenn.; grandchildren: Greg Frost, Jarrod Frost (Tara), Jeremy Frost (Brandi), Jeanette Laskey (Marty), B.J. May (Aarika), Julie May, Logan May, Chelsea May, Jesica Willcut (Kemper), Taylor May (Lacy), Mallory Nickel (Adam), Morgan McDowell (J.I.), Tanner May, Tucker May, Brent May, Caleb May and Amelia May; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 niece, 2 nephews; other relatives and friends.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Tom Bollinger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Taylorville. There will be no visitation.
