Jeanie Reid, 90, of Pana passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at Pana Community Hospital.
She was born December 31, 1928 in Johnstone, Scotland to the late John and Elizabeth (Steele) Kenny. She married Walter McInnes Reid in 1952 in Scotland and he preceded her in death in 1969.
Jeanie served in the British Women’s Royal Air Force before coming to the United States for her husband’s work. She had worked for the Illinois State Board of Education and was a member of the Johnstone High Parish Church in Johnstone, Scotland, Chatham Presbyterian Church in Chatham, Ill. and the United in Faith Church in Pana.
Jeanie was also a life-long member of the Eastern Star, as well as the Daughters of Scotia. She was a big hugger, who loved her family, her faith and God. She enjoyed talking, gardening, camping, knitting, crocheting, reading, walking and still talking! Jeanie never met a stranger.
She is survived by her children: Jean (Jim) Morefield, Spokane, Wash.; Alison (Jerry) Harbour, Edinburg, Ill.; Christine (Alan) McIntyre, Laconia, N.H.; Jackie (John) Metzger, Pana, Ill.; grandchildren: Michelle (Eric) Lamb, Jennifer (Jake) Pendle, Daniel Harbour, Angela (Dave) Scheufele, David (Deanna) McIntyre, Kyle (Crystal) McIntyre, Jackie McIntyre (significant other, Bob Lewellen), Adam (Monica) Metzger, Alex Metzger; great-grandchildren: Kaydence Lamb, Ethan Lamb, Sidney Pendle, Madysen Chance, Braxton Harbour, William McIntyre, Dylan McIntyre, Logan McIntyre, Emma Lewellen; and siblings: Betty (Matt) Crichton, Australia; May McCrystal, Scotland; and Margaret (John) McConnachie, Australia.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paighton Harbour; brother, John Kenny and sisters: Isobel Watt and Marjorie Bright.
Funeral services for Jeanie will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019 in United in Faith Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Amanda Richards officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Dollville.
