Wilma Louise Sloan, 71, of Pana passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was born May 21, 1947 in Decatur to the late Arthur Van & Lucille E. (Brown) Summers. Louise married Earl Sloan on June 26, 1965 and he survives in Pana.
Louise was a graduate of Stonington High School, member of Grace Baptist Church, Taylorville and a homemaker. She loved windchimes, playing bingo at County Market, going to the Senior Center, and especially spending time with her family, playing board games like Scattergories and Pictionary. Louise enjoyed volunteering at the elementary school and every year for Christmas, she made special ornaments for her grandchildren.
Also surviving are her children: Rebecca (Randy) Collier, Macon, Ill.; Tim (Dee) Sloan, Stonington, Ill.; Diana (Jeff) Johnson, Sullivan, Ill.; Matt (Katie) Sloan, Bloomington, Ill.; Joey (Robin) Sloan, Pana, Ill.; Rachel Roach (Randy Patriakeas), Pana, Ill.; Sarah (Joe) Leonard, Taylorville, Ill.; Jared Sloan, Bloomington, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; siblings: Bill Summers, Olathe, Kansas; Russell (Pam) Summers, Decatur, Ill.; Loreane (Sam) Robinson, Decatur, Ill.; Lois (Ed) Blondin, St. Paul, Minn.; sister-in-law, Ruth Summers, Cullman, Ala. and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: John “Johnny” Christopher Sloan and James Bradley Sloan and siblings: Arthur “Shorty” Summers, Stanley Summers, Bonnie Luncford, Rosalie Mobley.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Millersville Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. www.mdfh.com
