Barbara Jean (Snyder) Pellerin, 83 of Lakeland, Florida passed away at 4:30 a.m., 10 June 2019, at the Good Sheppard Hospice in Lakeland, Florida.
Barbara taught more than 1500 first graders how to read so they would be prepared for their journey through life. A graduate of Illinois State University, she traveled and taught in San Diego, Calif., Kodiak, Alaska, Cartagena, Columbia, Daharan, Saudi Arabia, where she met Lawrence at the US Consulate, then went to Israel where they were married in 1965 on the Mount of the Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee.
Barbara taught in S.C. and Fla. before teaching another 35 years in Providence, R.I. In June of 2018 she and her husband moved to Lakeland, Fla.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mary (Best) and Eugene Snyder and her nephews, Steven Snyder and Jeffrey Snyder.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lawrence M. Pellerin of Lakeland, Fla., her brother, Gerald Snyder of Taylorville, Ill., nieces, Victoria J. Grundy of Morrisonville, Ill. and Vanessa Younker of Morton, Ill., great-nieces and nephews, Katlyn Grundy of Morrisonville, IL and Brandon Grundy of Round Rock, Texas, Claire Younker and Gabe Younker of Morton, Ill., great-great nieces, Kessa Jane and Libby Mae Stephens of Morrisonville, Ill.
At her request, Barbara will be cremated in Lakeland, Fla. and her ashes will be spread over the grave sites of Mary and Eugene Snyder, at Glen Haven Memorial Garden, Taylorville, Ill., once again to be reunited with her beloved parents.
