Janet Hord, 71, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at her home. She fought a long and courageous battle with COPD.
She was born May 15, 1948 in Taylorville, Ill. to Robert and Josephine Shivers. She attended Taylorville schools. She married Tom Tucker in 1966, later divorcing. She married John Hord on December 20, 1996.
Janet was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 4495, American Legion Auxiliary Post 73, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 3296 and Women of the Moose Chapter 1619.
She is survived by husband John of Punta Gorda, Fla., daughter Tammy (Tom) Blumenshine of Bloomington, Ill., son Scott Tucker of Bloomington, Ill., stepsons Tony Hord and Jeff Hord of Fla., sisters Roberta Lamb of Texas, JoAnn Miller of Venice Fla., and Barbara Krapf of Naples, Fla., one brother Robert Shivers of Treasure Island, Fla., several nieces and nephews and nine grandchildren. Both parents preceded her in death.
