Lloyd S. Asbridge, 84, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away August 6, 2019 at Stone County Medical Center.
Lloyd was born on June 16, 1935 in Elvins, Missouri to the late Lloyd and Madeline (Grimes) Asbridge. Lloyd graduated from Elvins High School in 1953 and that same year married his late wife Anita D. (Aldrich) Asbridge.
He worked for the Kroger Company as a journeyman meat cutter and then advanced to head meat cutter before going to work at Peabody Coal Mine #10 in Illinois. He retired from the coal mine and spent his last few years in Mountain View enjoying crafts and gardening.
Lloyd was a wonderful gardener who enjoyed working the farmer’s market in Mountain View where he would give his produce to help other people. He was also a member of the Dome Church and always put people before himself. He loved to tell stories about his family and children; he was a loving father, husband, son, and brother. He raised four sons and two grandsons that served in the military.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of over four years, Lois (Morgan) Asbridge; four sons: Leonard Asbridge of Mountain View, Arkansas, Terrance Asbridge of Springfield, Illinois, Stephen Jay Asbridge of Taylorville, Illinois, and Jeffery Asbridge of Jacksonville, Florida; two stepchildren: Malisa Durr of Reidsville, Georgia, and Louis Spell of Cobbtown, Georgia; one brother, Jack Asbridge of Bellgrade, Missouri; two sisters: Sheila Warden of O’Fallon, Missouri and Colleen Nipper of Bellgrade, Missouri; four grandsons, six granddaughters, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, along with many extended family and friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Madeline (Grimes) Asbridge and his first wife Anita D. (Aldrich) Asbridge.
Visitation is Saturday, August 10, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Funeral services are Sunday, August 11, 2019, 2:00 PM at Roller Coffman Chapel with Pastor Mike Sullivan and Brother Bill Giberson officiating. Interment will be at Flatwoods Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his beloved sons and grandsons.
