Carol M. (Olive) Ambler
September 11, 1948 - December 5, 2019

Carol M. (Olive) Ambler of Las Cruces, N.M., formerly or Taylorville, Ill., passed away peacefully in her home December 5, 2019.

Carol was born September 11, 1948. She was the daughter of Edwin J. and Belle G. (Tarrant) Olive. Carol married Robert (Bob) R. Ambler on July 20,1977.

Carol was a loving mother to son Darryl R. Ambler and step-sons: Steven B. Ambler and Brandon T. Ambler. Carol has two wonderful grandsons, Nathaniel (Nathan) C. and Gabriel (Gabe) J. Ambler.

Carol enjoyed many jobs during her life including: Montgomery Wards, H&R Block, and partnering in a business in Hillsboro.

In her free time Carol enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America when Darryl was young, camping and traveling. Carol sat chairs in many camping clubs and groups including multiple terms as secretary for her local Good Sam's camping club. Carol was also a member of Women of the Moose for many years. Recently Carol has enjoyed being a member of her local Red Hat Society and several card clubs.

Carol was proceeded in death by her parents: Edwin and Belle Olive, father and mother-in-law Daniel and Edith Ambler, sister-in-law Patricia Olive and husband Robert Ambler in July.

Carol is survived by brothers: James (Jim) Olive and Gerald (Jerry) Olive both of Taylorville, Ill., son Darryl Ambler of Las Cruces, N.M., step-sons: Steve Ambler of Hannibal, Mo. and Brandon Ambler of Orlando, Fla., grandsons: Nathan Ambler of Fort Collins, Colo. and Gabe Ambler of Springfield, Ill., Carol’s “other kids”, nephew JC (Jessica) Olive of Taylorville, Ill., nieces Leslie (Aaron) Foraker of Millersville, Ill. and Susan (partner Jacob Muncy) Olive of Owaneco, Ill., great-niece Alexus (Allie) Olive of Taylorville, Ill., great-nephew Isaac Reynolds and great-niece Zadie Muncy, both of Owaneco, Ill.

A celebration of life will be held in Taylorville for both Carol and Bob at a later date.
