Anna P. Stupek, 96, of Pana passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Heritage Health – Pana. She was born March 30, 1923 in Pana, daughter of the late John L. and Katie (Kroenlein) Litz. Anna married Albert S. Stupek on November 27, 1954 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2002.
Anna lived her entire life in Pana and Oconee area and was a graduate of Rosamond High School, Class of 1941. She had worked in factories during WWII in a job known as “Rosie the Riveter.” Anna was a homemaker throughout most of her life, but she had also worked a magician’s assistant at one time. She was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking & canning. Anna could do anything she put her mind to; she even taught herself to play guitar. But, ultimately, she put her family above everything.
Anna is survived by her children: Mary (Roger) Cothern, Pana, Ill.; Albert J. (Sarah) Stupek, Pana, Ill.; Martin (Nancy) Stupek, Oreana, Ill.; Five grandchildren: Greg Cothern, Mike (Taylor) Cothern, Allison (Ryan) Trelz, Alex (Kyle) Johnson, Rachel (Craig) Tokarski and great grandchildren: Taryn Hrabak, Lenore Tokarski, Owen Johnson and two on the way. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Ethel Sweeney Wagner, Lewis Litz, Homer Litz & Carl Litz.
Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney A. Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the church.
