Mark L. Wilcoxon, 72, died the evening of Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Emerald Grove Assisted Living Facility, Mesa, Arizona.
In accordance with Mark’s wishes, cremation has been performed and burial rites will follow for his family and friends at a later date.
He was born June 30, 1947, in Springfield, Illinois to James and Helen Wilcoxon. He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1965. He attended College at Iowa State University for three years on an ROTC schoalrship. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1970 in Vietnam. He then obtained his Business/Accounting degree at University of Illinois.
He bought a farm in 1975 in Taylorville, Illinois and worked the farm and as an accountant in the area until he and his family moved to Iowa in the late 1980s. He was a Certified Public Accountant for 46 years and worked many of those years for John Deere throughout the U.S. He volunteered many hours on the federal, state and local government park systems. He enjoyed touring, sightseeing, hiking and being with family and friends.
He is survived by his partner: Nancy Haga, mother: Helen Wilcoxon, aunt: Carol Wilcoxon, son: Tim (wife Christina) Wilcoxon, daughter: Michelle (husband Carter) Schulze, brother: Arthur Wilcoxon, sisters: Laura (husband Terry) Macke and Louise (husband Kent) Templin and three grandchildren: Vincent Schulze, Audrey Schulze and Cora Wilcoxon.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Wilcoxon (WWII Naval Veteran), two uncles and one aunt.
