Robert “Bob” DeClerck, 83 of Pana passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at Heritage Health, Pana.
He was born April 11, 1936 in Assumption to the late Phillip and Mary (Schepman) DeClerck. He married Doris Bartow on July 2, 1954 and she preceded him on March 16, 2020.
Bob attended school in Assumption where he was raised then lived his adult life in the Pana area. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Pana and worked as a self-employed contractor/carpenter. He enjoyed boating, fishing, horseshoes, and playing cards and was said to have had a delightful sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his children: Debby (Eric) Jostes, Pana, Ill., Brenda (Gary) Spurling, Taylorville, Kent (Debbie) DeClerck, Pana; grandchildren: Aaron (Laura) Jostes, Michael (Bobi Jo) Jostes, Philip (Samantha) Jostes, Tammy (Todd) Altman, Samuel (Kiernan) Spurling, Robert (Kara) Spurling, Amber (Grover) Green, Chrissy Horsthemke; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Ella, Kara, Lillian, Ethan, Kaley, Hailey, Xton, Ainsley, Lincoln; and siblings: Louie DeClerck, Moweaqua and Mary Kay Brown, Assumption.
He was preceded by his parents and brothers: Clarence “Shorty” DeClerck, Raymond “Red” DeClerck, and Johnny DeClerck.
Per Bob’s wishes he has donated his body to science. A celebration of life service and burial will be held at a later date.
