Robert Lee Smith, 67, of Anaheim, Calif. died on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Anaheim.
He was born March 8, 1953 in Wauseon, Ohio to Cloyce and Jean (Vidmar) Smith. He moved to Taylorville, Ill. at the age of 2 and attended elementary through high school in Taylorville. He was known as the jokester and class clown but loved by many. He graduated from Taylorville High School in 1971 and immediately joined the Navy where he was honorably discharge in 1973. He returned to Taylorville, Ill. for some time before going back to Arizona and eventually California. He worked in construction for more than 45 years and helped to construct many buildings in Taylorville.
He is survived by a daughter Katharine (Antonio III) Carrasco of Whittier, Calif.; two grandchildren: Antonio IV and Penelope with a third on the way very soon; two brothers: Larry (Elizabeth) Smith of Mesa, Ariz. and Randy Smith (Andrea Eckenrod) of Anaheim, Calif.; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cloyce and Jean (Vidmar) Smith; his sister, Judith Sims; his brother, Richard Smith; his nephew, Ricky Smith.
Professional services entrusted to the care of Guerra & Gutierrez Mortuary in Whittier, Calif. A small Prayer Service was held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Hacienda Heights, Calif. on July 24, 2020. The family will hold a Memorial Service at a later date.
