Martha Ann Ariana, formerly of Taylorville, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Carlton Senior Living in Pleasant Hill, Calif.
She was born in Taylorville on August 20, 1930, to Cecil Floyd and Georgia Jewell.
After graduating from the Taylorville schools, she married Francis Ariana, Jr. in June of 1949 and then started a family. Being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy in life, and there was never a day her children and grandchildren did not feel her unconditional love and support. She was active in community endeavors and cultivated many life-long friendships.
“Ann,” as she was known, never knew a stranger and loved talking to everyone. She and her husband relocated to Northern California in 1988 after their children were grown. In the retirement village where they settled, Ann enjoyed women’s club and singing in a choir. She was an avid reader and loved that she could enjoy her flowers year-round in California. She also loved to travel, especially when it involved seeing family and babysitting her grandchildren.
Ann is survived by sons Steve (Deborrah), Ron (Carol) and Bob (Keely), and daughter Susan Thomas; grandchildren Danielle, Olivia, Drew, Cam, Adrian, Garrett, Braelen, Isabelle, Kieran, and Enzo; great-grandchildren: Ella and Grace.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis, her son David, and her son-in-law David.
