Niaolvia Grace Thompson Pop went to be with Jesus on October 31, 2020 at 9:38 a.m. at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Ill.
She was born on July 12, 1939 in Fayette County, Ill. to Elmer and Esther Thompson. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1957 and attended Lincoln Christian College. Niaolvia retired from the State of Illinois in Springfield. Niaolvia was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville, Ill. She resided at North Logan Health Care Center in Danville, IL.
She was the mother to Robin (Doug) Watkins of Carmi, Ill.; Timothy Opalka of Springfield, Ill.; Trista (Sam) DiVetta of Tucson, Ariz.; Tiffany (Chris) Pacino of Amarillo, Texas; siblings: Nancy Crowe of Taylorville, Ill.; Judith (Dean) Huffman of Rowlett, Texas; Carolyn Wands of Danville, Ill.; Leroy (Virginia) Thompson of Muskogee, Okla. and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Opalka, husband: Iggy Pop, and brothers-in-law: Keith Crowe and Gene A. Wands.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Brownstown, Ill. with Dr. Leroy Thompson officiating.
