Terry Lee “Red” Dobyns, Jr. 45, of Bunker Hill, formerly of Morrisonville, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Red was born December 11, 1975 in Hillsboro, the son of Madonna Plopper and Terry Lee Dobyns, Sr. He was a loyal, giving, caring, supportive husband and father, and an inspiration to many. Red was proud of his current ten years of sobriety, and he helped many individuals on their journeys to sobriety as an NA sponsor. He was also a standout employee for Hydrochem PSC, where he was currently a field supervisor, and where he was honored with the 2018 Employee of the Year. Red loved animals, especially his dogs. He also loved Harleys and Cadillacs, and going fishing. Of all his loves and interests, Red loved nothing more than his family, and being the best father to his children.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Jeffry Dobyns; maternal grandfather, John J. “Buzz” Plopper; sister, Jennifer Ann Dobyns; and many other extended family members.

Red is survived by his wife, Candi Lea Stamper of Bunker Hill; children, Carleigh Fisher, Candra Dobyns, Haidyn Dobyns, and Hazel Dobyns; bonus daughter, Jennifer Ann Franklin; his mother, Madonna Plopper of Wentworth, Mo.; father, Terry Lee (wife, Tracy) Dobyns, Sr. of Purdy, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Carole Ann Plopper of Morrisonville; siblings, John (wife, Linda) Dobyns of Pontoon Beach, Cody Dobyns of Sarcoxie, Mo., and Lacey Rivera of Purdy, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Kenzleigh, Patience, Madyson, Zyqiera, Nyonna, and Danterius; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation & Graveside Ceremony:  The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Social distancing will be required, as well as the wearing of masks. A graveside ceremony will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery in Morrisonville, with Rev. Chad Foster officiating.
