Charlotte Tex, 12, of Taylorville died Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at her residence in Taylorville. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will begin at 1:00 on Saturday, January 30 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, Illinois. Her funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Gaylord J. Spilker conducting services. Social distancing and church capacity guidelines for occupancy are required on Saturday.
Charlotte Tex was born Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in Springfield the daughter of Jonathan Lee Tex and Julia Ann Ostermeier. Charlotte was raised in Taylorville currently attending seventh grade at Taylorville Junior High. She was a member of the school choir and band where she played tenor sax. Charlotte was a cheerleader but her latest passion was softball, and she especially enjoyed reading Harry Potter books. Charlotte and her family are also members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edinburg.
Charlotte Tex is survived by her mother, Julia Ostermeier, and brother, Joe Tex, of Taylorville, paternal grandparents, Nick and Ann Tex, of Scottsdale, Arizona, maternal grandfather, Tim Ostermeier, of Edinburg and maternal grandmother, Emily Pate, and her husband Roy of Hermitage, Tennessee also survive their granddaughter. Aunts, Sabina Yearout her husband Stacey, of Ashland, Kentucky, Tabetha Deutsch husband Sam of Beaumont, Texas and Donna Pate of Nashville, Tennessee mourn the passing of their niece.
Her Father Jonathan Lee Tex died April 15, 2010.
