Russell was born June 28, 1928 in Mt. Auburn, the son of Roy and Hallie (Pumphrey) Reindl. He married Mary Daugherty and they had two sons, and later divorced. Russell then married Isabelle I. Miller, and she preceded him in death on March 6, 1983.

Russell proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and one of his proudest moments was being able to participate in the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight commemorating his service.

In his free time, he enjoyed remodeling homes for family and friends, as well as resale.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Lee Reindl; and all 11 of his siblings.

Russell is survived by his son, Stephen (wife, Tammy) Reindl of Taylorville; three grandchildren: Mary Henderson of Champaign, and Reeves and Rogan Reindl of Taylorville; great-granddaughter, Stella Henderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive guests from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Shafer-Perfetti & Assalley Funeral Home, 202 W. Franklin Street, Taylorville, Ill. 62568.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the funeral home, with Pastor Bill Cox officiating. Interment with military honors will follow the ceremony at Edinburg Cemetery.
