Pana's Jonah Lauff to play basketball at Augustana
Jonah Lauff, a two-sport standout from Pana High School in Pana, Illinois, has announced his plans to enroll at Augustana in the fall and continue his athletic career as a member of Coach Grey Giovanine's Viking basketball program. The 6' 5", 195-pound Lauff was a three-year starter and two-time team captain for Coach Adam Metzger's Panthers. He wrapped up his career third on Pana's all-time scoring list with 1,290 points and was fourth in rebounds (535) and second in three-point field goals (163).

CHRISTIAN COUNTY — It was almost like a scene from a movie Friday night as hundreds of cars streamed into the parking lot at Taylorville High School, horns blaring while they paraded past the athletic complex as a show of solidarity for first responders, front-line workers, and the graduating class of 2020 that has seen any semblance of their high school sendoff wrecked by the COVID-19 outbreak.

8th-grade Panthers fall to Vandalia in Regional
The eighth grade Pana Panthers took on Vandalia in the Hillsboro Regional on Tuesday night. The Panthers were victorious 26-24 in the first set, but fell in the next two sets 20-25 and 20-25, which ended their season.

Panthers come up just short, 59-58, in regional title
The 2019-20 basketball season ended for the Pana Panthers boys basketball team on Friday night. The championship game of the Paris Class 2A Regional was a classic contest between two programs steeped in tradition and filled with a rich history. When the final horn sounded, the Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis had eked out a 59-58 win to advance to next week’s Sectional in Shelbyville.

Pana clocks Newton 67-38 in regional win
Pana rolled up its sleeves and went to work against Newton Wednesday night in the opening game of regional play. Behind 28 points from Andrew Ambrose, the Panthers blitzed the Eagles in a 67-38, running clock victory.

“It was probably our most complete game of the season,” Pana head coach Adam Metzger said after the win.
