Summer practice returns to Pana High School
It’s not exactly football practice as in days of old, but it is practice. Under guidelines established by the Illinois High school Association (IHSA), practice for sports got underway on Monday.

“Really excited to be back, but this just isn’t the way we want it to be,” Pana Head Football Coach Trevor Higgins said. “But, we’re back to work and all of the kids are happy to be back. This is a time we are building relationships and that’s what its about. I haven’t heard one negative comment from anyone about what we are doing.”

Head Basketball Coach Adam Metzger is also helping out. On Tuesday, he was taking temperatures and asking health questions of each athlete as it related to COVID-19.

If you light it, they will come
CHRISTIAN COUNTY — It was almost like a scene from a movie Friday night as hundreds of cars streamed into the parking lot at Taylorville High School, horns blaring while they paraded past the athletic complex as a show of solidarity for first responders, front-line workers, and the graduating class of 2020 that has seen any semblance of their high school sendoff wrecked by the COVID-19 outbreak.
