Neither the Wildcats nor the Vipers were really able to gain control over the opening 5 minutes of their contest on Tuesday night in Waverly. The tide changed after the mask timeout of the first quarter, as the Vipers went on to outscore the Wildcats 16-0 from there through the second quarter, en route to a 49-13 victory on the evening.
A Mitchell Bloome three in the early part of the first quarter and a runner in the lane by Isaiah Fisher was all of the scoring that the Wildcats were able to get in the first half as they fell behind 24-5 after the first half. Wednesday, February 24, 2021
The Edinburg Wildcats opened their season on Tuesday night against MSM conference foe Calvary. Although Edinburg was successful in their gameplan of keeping the Saints quiet from the three-point line, Calvary was able to find success in their offensive rebounding and fastbreak opportunities to come away with the 69-35 win.
The Saints came out of the gates fast with the ball on their opening possession, but were halted at the rim by Joey Patterson and Colin Hardin, who were able to get in the lane and deflect the incoming Saint. Calvary did the same to Hayden Prince on the opening Wildcat possession of the game. Wednesday, February 10, 2021
