Edinburg ends season on tough draw
The Edinburg Wildcats had one of the toughest draws in their regional semifinal game on Tuesday as they had to face off against the defending 1A state champion Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg. The Hatchets got out to an early start and won 12-0.

Mt. Olive ends Wildcat baseball season
Despite facing off against Mt. Olive twice last week on Tuesday, the Wildcats had to take on Mt. Olive once again on Monday for their opening regional contest. Mt. Olive was able to pull out two wins last week, and they were able to end Edinburg’s season as they defeated the Wildcats 14-4 Monday night.

After their 10-run victory on Monday, the Edinburg Wildcat softball team traveled to Springfield to face off against Calvary on Tuesday. The Wildcats  stayed hot as they scored runs across the first four innings to win 12-4.

The Edinburg baseball team made the trip over to Decatur to face off against Decatur Lutheran. The Lions scored 10 runs in the first three innings, which helped them win 13-3.

Doan, Herzog take third at Rochester Open
Julian Doan and Hunter Herzog of Edinburg High School finished in third place in the Rochester Open High Bass Fishing Tournament on Lake Springfield. The pair teamed up to battle the wind and rain bringing in five bass weighing 13.38 pounds. Chatham-Glenwood took first with five bass weighing 15.23 pounds and St. Teresa finished second with five bass totaling 13.97 pounds.

The Edinburg softball team traveled to the Athens sports complex on Monday to take on the Warriors. The teams were tied at one after the first inning, but Edinburg scored twice in the second inning while Athens got just one and Edinburg would ultimately hang on for the 3-2 win.

Wildcats get walk-off win in sixth over Morrisonville
Rylie Burney came up in a big time at-bat for the freshman on Tuesday night for Edinburg. The Wildcats were up 10-2 in the bottom of the sixth and the bases were loaded. Burney hit a fly ball to center that fell in and allowed the final two runs to cross the plate as the Wildcats defeated Morrisonville 12-2 in he first Mohawk loss of the year.
