Wildcats top Mohawks, face Mt. Pulaski tonight

The Edinburg Wildcats and the Morrisonville Mohawks faced off for the fifth time this season. Edinburg came into the contest with a 3-1 season series advantage and looked to extend it while the Mohawks were looking to end the Wildcat streak.

The Edinburg Wildcats honored their seniors on Thursday night as it was their final home game of the year. They had the task of hosting Lutheran High on Thursday, and the Crusaders were victorious 25-12 and 25-12.

The Edinburg Wildcats faced off against Nokomis last night. With Nokomis being a tough gym to play in, the Wildcats were able to come away with the victory in three sets by scores of 26-24, 18-25, and 25-5.

EDINBURG — The Edinburg volleyball team hosted a strong Pawnee squad on Thursday night. The Indians were able to defeat the Wildcats by scores of 15-25 and 19-25.

Edinburg 2nd at Mohawk Tournament
Edinburg, Morrisonville, and the Taylorville JV squad all competed over the past weekend in the Mohawk volleyball tournament. Edinburg was 2-0 going into Saturday and Morrisonville was 1-2, Taylorville’s JV was 2-0 after Friday’s games going into Saturday as well.

Edinburg tops South County in three sets
The Wildcat volleyball team went to Franklin to face off against the South County Vipers on Monday. In a long three-set match, Edinburg was able to come away with the victory with scores of 27-25, 26-28, and 25-21.

Edinburg volleyball falls to Lincolnwood
Edinburg volleyball has now played five games in the last four days after traveling to Raymon to face Lincolnwood on Thursday. The Wildcats were 3-1 up until that point and were looking to stay up for the week. The Lancers had other ideas, though, as they swept the Wildcats 25-18 and 25-14.

Morrisonville, Edinburg start Mohawk tourney
The Morrisonville Mohawks and Edinburg Wildcats started pool play in the Mohawk Tournament on Wednesday. The three-day tournament will see the second pool play on Friday, and pool play will wrap up Saturday morning.  Bracket play follows on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats traveled to New Berlin to take on the Pretzels on Wednesday in volleyball action at the New Berlin Dome. The Wildcats gave New Berlin a run in the first set, which ended 25-20, but errors in the second set caused the Pretzels to win 25-10.

Edinburg volleyball goes to extras with Mt. Olive
Being tied at 25 is a scary thought in a volleyball set; the next team to go up by two points will be declared the victor. That happened in both sets Tuesday night as the Edinburg Wildcats and the Mt. Olive Wildcats faced off. Neither team wanted to give up, but ultimately Mt. Olive would be victorious 27-25 and 28-26.
