When Governor J.B. Pritzker issued his stay-at-home order, he also extended the school closure date until at least April 7. With that, some local high school athletes are worried that their upcoming season is quickly slipping away, maybe entirely.

MORRISONVILLE — Adam Deal, former Morrisonville pitcher, spent his freshman year playing at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield. Deal would have played his sophomore year there as well, but the National Junior College Athletic Association cancelled all of their spring seasons amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The Morrisonville Tomahawks played three conference matches over the last week. The seventh grade and eighth grade both finished the week with a record of 3-0.
On Monday, the Tomahawks played Mt. Olive at home. Seventh grade won in three games with scores of 22- 25, 25-19, and 25-16 while eighth grade swept their match with scores of 25-10 and 25-12. Saturday, February 1, 2020
