The Central A&M softball team traveled to Tuscola on Monday night for CIC action. The Warriors picked up five runs in the third inning and one in the fourth en route to their 6-5 win over the Raiders.

Tuscola takes early lead to top Raiders
The Central A&M Raiders traveled to Tuscola to face off against the Warriors in baseball action. The Warriors had a 10-0 lead before the Raiders scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning and then Tuscola regained their 10-run lead in the bottom of the fifth to take the 12-2 win.

The Central A&M softball team hosted the Meridian Hawks on Wednesday. Meridian picked up five runs in the sixth inning and despite the Raiders getting one run in the sixth and the seventh, the Raiders fell 6-4.

The Raider baseball team hosted Meridian on Wednesday. The Hawks were able to score four runs in the third inning, and that was all of the scoring that either team was able to do as Meridian went on to win 4-0.

The A&M softball team hosted the Riverton Hawks on Tuesday for their second game of a five-game week. The Raiders were victorious on Monday and continued their winning ways Tuesday as they topped the Hawks 11-0.

The Central A&M baseball team traveled to Warrensburg where they were tied going into the final inning and the Raiders scored two runs to win 11-9 and picked up their first conference win in the process.

Raider softball gets two wins over MacArthur
The Central A&M softball team was able to take advantage of the nice weather on Saturday and faced off against Decatur MacArthur in a doubleheader. The Raiders were able to get two wins on the afternoon as they defeated MacArthur 17-1 and 14-1.

Pana, Raider track compete at Pana Invite
The Pana Invite was once again ran on Saturday as the Panthers and Central A&M Raiders competed in the 13-team track meet. Pana won the girls side of the Invite with 125 points while A&M was eighth with 28 points; the Panther boys were third with 95.5 points and A&M was 11 with nine points.

The Pana Panthers hosted Central A&M on Monday afternoon. The Raiders scored one run in every inning leading up to the sixth in which they scored six runs in the sixth and six in the seventh while Pana scored a run in the second, third, and seventh innings as the Raiders won 17-3.

The Raider baseball team finished their game against St. Teresa and then traveled to Decatur Eisenhower to face off against the Panthers. The Raiders fell to St. Teresa 13-12 in a walk-off, and then defeated Eisenhower 15-14 in the ninth inning.

DECATUR — The A&M softball team travel to Decatur to face off against St. Teresa on Thursday afternoon. The Raiders bats scored them 16 runs across the first three innings while the Bulldogs scored one in the first, which gave A&M the 15-run rule victory in four innings.

Central A&M punches their ticket to State
With 1:08 left on the clock in the fourth quarter and a 72-61 lead for the Raiders, the A&M student section started a “No School Friday!” cheer. Sesser-Valier didn’t give up fighting over the final 68 seconds and pushed the envelope, but the cheer rang true as the Raiders were able to fend off the Red Devil offense and win 79-69, advancing to State for the first time in school history.

The Raiders and Redskins played a close game in the first quarter, but the Raider defense didn’t allow Nokomis to get anything going in the next three quarters, helping them get the 58-28 victory and advance to the Regional final tonight.

DECATUR — With a minute to go in the Central Illinois Conference Tournament championship match, Tuscola fans broke out in a chant, “Let’s go Warriors. Let’s go Warriors. They were quickly drowned out by the Central A&M fans who boomed back, “Here we go Raiders. Here we go Raiders.”
