Central A&M hosts Pana in seven-on-seven

Instead of taking on their own teammates all summer, Central A&M and Pana squared off against each other in 7-on-7 action on Wednesday night. “It’s nice to get out here and get some reps in on both offense and defense,” said A&M head coach Brent Weakly. “We have been together for a while, but we also had basketball over the summer so it’s nice to focus on footbal.”

Walk-off keeps A&M away from a Regional title
The Central A&M Raiders faced off against the Meridian Hawks on Saturday in the Regional championship game. The Hawks opened with a 1-0 lead after the first inning and both teams scored a run in the fifth, which still held Meridian with a 2-1 advantage.

The Pana boys track team and the Central A&M boys track team traveled to Sullivan to compete for a chance at state. The Raiders finished tied for 14 in the meet with a team score of two and Pana won the meet with an 87 team score.

DECATUR — Millikin University junior Kalli Farmer (Columbia, H.S.) and senior Taylor Jordan (Moweaqua, Central A&M H.S.) were named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA. The team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Pana advances two relay's, three individuals to state
ASSUMPTION — The Central A&M and Pana girls track teams competed in the Central A&M girls track sectional on Thursday. Although the temperature was down and the wind and rain was off-and-on throughout the meet, the Panthers advanced their 4x200 meter relay team, the 4x100 meter relay team, a shot-putter, a 100 meter dash runner, and a 400 meter dash runner to the state meet next week in Charleston.

The Central A&M softball team traveled to Shelbyville to finish their game from last week, but the two teams also squared off in a fresh contest Tuesday night as well. The Raiders were victorious in both as they won 5-0 and 8-3.

The Central A&M baseball team hosted Warrensburg-Latham on its Senior Night on Tuesday. The Raiders scored two runs in the first inning and three runs in the second inning while Warrensburg scored one run in the sixth for a 5-1 final score.
