Central A&M volleyball drops two at Cerro Gordo Saturday
The Central A&M Raiders played in the Cerro Gordo Round Robin tournament on Saturday where they faced off against the host and Clinton. Against Clinton the Raiders fell in two sets with scores of 24-26 and 20-25 and then fell in three sets to Cerro Gordo 25-18, 13-25, and 24-26.

Brody Barnes has 4 TDs, lifts Central A&M over Sullivan
Although Friday night was the final home game for the Raiders this season in which they celebrated their seniors and the Homecoming Court, it was a sophomore that came up big for the Raiders.

Brody Barnes had four touchdowns on the night with three on the ground and one through the air on Friday night as the Raiders rolled to a 48-6 victory.

Raiders fall versus tough Shelbyville team
The Central A&M Raiders traveled to Shelbyville to face off against the Rams. Despite playing tough with the Rams, the Raiders fell 22-25 and 22-25.

A&M volley ball picks up back-to-back wins
The Central A&M Raiders were back in action on Tuesday night when they hosted Neoga. The Raiders were victorious on Tuesday night in straight sets 25-23 and 25-13.

Julia Braundmeier had one kill, one assist, and nine digs; Marissa Snearly had one ace, one kill, eight assists, two digs, and a block; Julia Corzine had three aces, three kills, eight assists, and one block; Emma Beck had two aces, five kills, and one block, Ashlyn Hennings had one ace, two kills, and one dig; Victoria Billups had two blocks; Makenzie Smith had one ace, six kills, and seven digs; Sydney Allen had two digs.

A&M Raiders top Edinburg in cross-county matchup
It’s been an interesting year for scheduling to say the least. Having to play teams in each COVID region opened some games for teams that they may not have seen in other years. None was more evident than on Monday night as the Central A&M Raiders hosted Edinburg. The Raiders won in straight sets as they took the first 25-16 and the second 25-18.

Raiders rush for 300+ in third win
MACON — The Central A&M Raiders traveled to Meridian on Friday night to face off against the Hawks. The Raiders finished the game with 302 total rushing yards in their 50-14 win.

Raiders beat Cardinals to advance to 2-0
The Raider defense held the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals to just 30 rushing yards en route to a 19-7 victory on Friday night.

Neither team scored in the first quarter, but the Raiders broke the scoreless tie as James Paradee busted through the line on a quarterback keeper for a one-yard score. After Jarrett Robertson added the PAT, the Raiders led 7-0.

A&M's middle hitters shut down Meridian on senior night
The Central A&M Raiders hosted Meridian Tuesday night for senior night where Emma Beck, Julia Braundmeier, and Victoria Billups were all honored prior to the contest.

The Raiders got an early side out point and went on a run to lead 8-6 in the set. Billups was able to get her hands on a couple of solo blocks and gave the Raiders an 11-6 lead in the set, which forced the Hawk’s coach to take a timeout.

It wasn’t just Billups who made a statement in the first set, as Ashlyn Hennings came alive in the middle part of the set and put down a couple of big kills as well as Makenzie Smith, who duo’d with Billups on a block for the final Raider point of the first set as they took it 25-16.

CAM volleyball picks up first win
It took three sets for the Raiders to pick up their first victory of the season, but they were successful in doing so as they topped the Storm 22-25, 26-24, and 25-15.

Raider football does it all in Saturday win over Tuscola
Before this season got underway, Central A&M head coach Brent Weakly said that he didn’t coach a spring sport for one reason: the weather.

Mother Nature altered his plan this past week as the Raiders were supposed to face off against Tuscola in a Friday night affair, but instead were delegated to a Saturday afternoon contest due to Thursday’s downpour of rain and field conditions on Friday.

MOWEAQUA — The last thing that James Paradee said after Central A&M’s trip to State last season was, “We’ll be back next year.” Unfortunately, through no fault of his or his team’s own, the Raiders won’t be able to fulfill Paradee’s promise.

MOWEAQUA — Any coach looking to replace any number of seniors is tough. In a season where she only has 18 games to play with a team that hasn’t played a volleyball game since their loss in a Regional semi-final more than a year and a half ago, Central A&M head coach Vanessa Rork has to replace nine seniors.

The Raider volleyball team fell in their season opener as they hit the road on Tuesday night to face off against Altamont. The Raiders dropped both sets to Altamont 13-25 and 13-25.

Low-scoring first half downs A&M girls
The Central A&M girls were on the road Monday as they faced off against Sullivan. The Raiders were held to just 12 points in the first half, while Sullivan scored 29 en route to a 55-35 victory for the Redskins.
