Most teams have two or three games circled on their schedule as important ones that will change the tone of their season. That’s not the case for Central A&M this season. “We have such a tough opening seven games that we have to be ready right out of the gate especially with Westville this year being our opening game,” said head coach Brent Weakly.

Youth: the moniker for A&M volleyball
Central A&M volleyball will be full of youth this season. After losing kill leader and outside hitter Taryn Sams to graduation, the Raiders will have new hitters to work in and will be looking to them often.

For the first time in three years, the Central A&M Cross Country program has enough girls and boys to each field a team, meeting the minimum of five on each side.

7-on-7's from Saturday; THS, Pana, and A&M
Both Taylorville and Pana competed in the Maroa-Forsyth seven-on-seven round robin tournament on Saturday. The Tornadoes went 3-2 on the day as they defeated Maroa’s JV team, Pana, and Shelbyville. Pana was 2-3 and also defeated Maroa’s JV and Shelbyville.

Raiders, Panthers rematch, split seven-on-seven contest
The Central A&M Raiders played host to the Pana Panthers Wednesday night as the two seven-on-seven squads met for the second time in just three days.

Pana prevailed 18-12 in game one while the Raiders took game two by a final of 18-6.

Central A&M and Pana compete in 7-on-7
Both Central A&M and Pana traveled to Mt. Zion on Monday to compete against the host Braves, the Meridian Hawks, and against each other. The score of these games was not kept, with both teams getting 20 minutes on offense and defense each and a 10-minute break in-between.

Lady Raiders wrap season in sectional loss to WSS
A 10-0 loss to Windsor Stew-Stras Tuesday in sectional play was certainly not how the Central A&M Lady Raiders hoped their season would end. Head coach Wayne Jordan, though, says it was a historic season for his squad with a lot to be proud of.
