VisionWay 6th grade boys remain undefeated
TAYLORVILLE — VisionWay 6th grade boys moved to 7-0 Tuesday evening after defeating St. Mary’s 42-23. Isaac Corso led all scorers with 12 points and also grabbed six rebounds.

Lancers pick up win at Hillsboro
The Lancers traveled to Hillsboro on Tuesday night for a matchup with the Hilltoppers. The Lancers used a 25-point fourth quarter to come away with the 56-51 win over Hillsboro on Tuesday night.

Christian County youth volleyball wraps up third season
The Christian County youth volleyball program wrapped up its third season of league play. Over 180 kids from the area played in the league this year and opened up to the Meridian school district and donated the admissions to various community organizations this year.

VisionWay Christian School 6th grade boys moved to 6-0 after they defeated Arthur Christian School Monday evening 40-12. The eight-grade team also won their contest 43-19 to advance to 4-1 on teh seaosn.

Christian County Predators compete at Monmouth
The Christian County Predator swim team traveled to Monmouth on Saturday to compete in the Splash Bash Waterbug Invite. The results were as follows:

Haley Bliler (11-12) was 18 in the 50 yard freestyle, 11 in the 100 yard freestyle and the 50 yard breaststroke, and was 10 in the 50 yard backstroke.

Lincolnwood downs Mt. Olive 47-24
The Lincolnwood Lancers hit the road again on Friday night after opening the season at the New Berlin tournament. This time, they traveled to Mt. Olive to face off against the Wildcats. A stifling defensive performance from the Lancers kept Mt. Olive to 18 points from the floor, and although they added six from the free-throw line, the Lancers were victorious 47-24.

Lancers fall in final game of New Berlin tournament
The Lincolnwood Lancers wrapped up the New Berlin tournament on Saturday as they took on MSM foe South County.

The third quarter was the difference maker, but a strong attempt at a comeback in the fourth left the Lancers down by four as the buzzer sounded, and they fell 41-37.

NEW BERLIN — The Lincolnwood Lancers faced off against MSM conference opponent Lutheran in the New Berlin tournament on Friday night. The Lancers outscored the Crusaders 15-4 in the second quarter, which was the deciding factor in their 47-33 victory.

NEW BERLIN — Despite a 15-point first quarter by the Lancers on Wednesday in the New Berlin tournament, the North Mac Panthers answered with a 22-point second quarter, which helped them come out on top with a 49-40 win.

The Lincolnwood Lancers traveled to New Berlin to take on Macon-Meridian in the first game of the New Berlin tournament on Monday night. Getting inside and stopping momentum by getting to the free-throw line was the difference maker for Meridian, as they won 76-42.

LHS boys balancing basketball with off-court struggles
 “You go to school and you play throughout your younger years and then you become a coach, but there’s no playbook for this. Every instance that we’ve come across and tragedy, we have to handle with adversity. We talk about adversity in a basketball stance, and we have to translate that, now, into real life. We have very loyal and great kids in our school districts…and it makes it easier with the way that they’ve been raised and how they react to the situations,” said head coach Matt Millburg.

FBCA falls just short of major upset in Regional
The FBCA Falcons pulled a very tough draw in the Regional semifinal this season. The eighth-seeded Falcons took on the number-one seed in the Sub-Sectional Riverton/Tri-City on Tuesday afternoon; last year the ninth-seeded Falcons had to face the second-seed and the fifth-seed to make it to the Regional title game.

Lincolnwood volleyball gets win number 900
The Raymond Lincolnwood volleyball team got win number 900 in program history last night as they defeated Nokomis in straight sets, 25-12 and 25-13. Mary Hammersley started the program at Lincolnwood in 1974 and coached the team for 24 years.
