ISHA takes action on several issues including contact days
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 12, 2021, where the Board took action on several items, including a reduction in contact days this summer and setting several spring State Final dates.

In addition, the Board announced updates from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regarding masks for students competing in low-risk outdoor sports and activities.

Lancers beat North Greene in finale
The Lincolnwood Lancers closed out their season with a victory on the road in Franklin, as they were victorious over North Greene 60-48 in their final game of the season and their final game of the Waverly Tournament.

Pretzels beat Lancers
The Waverly Holiday Tournament got structured a little differently this season as there are four host sites with two games at each site. The Lancers won their tournament opener against their own JV team on Sunday, fell to North Mac Monday, and were also defeated by New Berlin last night 47-24.

Lancers top Springfield Lutheran
The Lancers and Lutheran High Crusaders squared off on Tuesday night in an MSM Conference matchup. Lincolnwood was victorious in the low-scoring affair, as they won 39-37..

The Lancers were able to lead by four after the first quarter thanks to a pair of threes from Will Jenkins, a three from Cole Sidwell, two points from Braden Whalen, and one free-throw from Dylan Brown as their defense held Lutheran to eight points in the first quarter.

IHSA okays state series, announces spectator increase
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 8, 2021, where it approved a State Series for  traditional spring sports and announced that outdoor events will be open to fans at a twenty-percent capacity.

A State Series is now confirmed for Baseball, Softball, Bass Fishing, Girls Soccer, Journalism, and Boys & Girls Track & Field. “All tournaments are currently expected to conduct all rounds of competition, including a State Final. State Final qualifiers in some individual sports may be modified to better meet gathering mitigations. The State Series guidelines will be posted online and shared with coaches and school personnel later this week,” the announcement reads.

Nokomis downs Lincolnwood
The Nokomis Redskins hit just three three-point field goals in Friday night's contest at Raymond.

Their first came in the first quarter, the second in the fourth, and the final one was the nail in the coffin for the Lancers as it sealed their fate for the overtime period as they fell 38-36.
