YMCA Predators in Snowball meet

The Christian County YMCA Predators competed against 500 other swimmers in the annual 3-day Snowball Classic Swim Meet at the Kerasota’s YMCA. The Predators team consisted of 17 swimmers who  achieved more than 40 new personal best times!

Illini travel bowling league results
The Illini Travel bowling league got moved back a week, after the road conditions pushed them back. Nonetheless, Solid 9 Pro Shot held their lead at the end of play on Sunday. They were followed by Town Pump Bowl, No One Knows, Broken Wrench Garage, Tuley’s Family Barber Shop, Olde Bowl, Boston Heating & Cooling, and Crappie Slayers.

Lancers top Tri-City in OT
After falling behind 24-20 at halftime and 37-30 after the third quarter, the Lincolnwood Lancers battled back for 25 points in the final quarter and then five more in overtime to top the Tri-City Tornadoes 60-57 on Friday.

Carlinville tops Lincolnwood in Mohawk Classic
The Mohawk Classic’s Tuesday night games are broken up to be hosted among three of the different schools across the tournament. On Tuesday, Lincolnwood hosted the Carlinville Cavaliers where the Lancers struggled in the middle quarters, helping Carlinville come away with the 54-34 victory.

TAYLORVILLE — Jandi Services, Taylorville Moose, and Andy’s Market all tied with four points each to lead the men’s fraternal league. T’Ville KC II, Y-Zoe’s, T’Ville KC II, and T’Ville KC ended the night tied for fourth, Wendy’s, Olde Bowl, and Yard Heating and Cooling were tied for seventh, and Solid 9 Pro Shop, Lumb Restorations, and CTI Fiber were tied for tenth.

WAVERLY — The Lincolnwood Lancers faced off against the Lutheran Crusaders for the second time this season with their opening contest of the Waverly Holiday Tournament. After falling to the Crusaders 60-33 over a month ago, the Lancers had a gameplan going into the contest last night.

Terry Todt, originally from Raymond, was honored with a shootout dedicated in his name on Saturday. Todt, broadcaster for WSMI radio, was diagnosed with cancer and had always wanted to see a shootout held in his area. The more games in a day, the better.

The Lincolnwood boys basketball team hosted Hillsboro on Tuesday at home. The Hiltoppers had the lead from the get go and closed out the game with a 56-40 win.

The Taylorville Lady Tornadoes traveled to Lincoln on Thursday for their second game in Apollo conference play. It ended up a thriller that saw a fourth-quarter comeback from the Railers who went on to capture the 57-52 victory.

NEW BERLIN — Taking a 26-9 point advantage in one quarter helped the North Mac Panthers defeat the Lincolnwood Lancers on Friday in the fourth game of the Thanksgiving Tournament held at New Berlin. The Panthers continued their scoring into the second half and won 63-35.

RAYMOND — ”We lost four components of our senior team last year, so we’ll have a different look for sure,” said Lincolnwood Basketball Coach Matt Millburg. “We lost our leading scorers Matt Mizera and Ryan Poggenpohl, our ball handler in Tanner Millburg, and we also lost Adam Deal to graduation who brought some good size and a physical presence for us.”

Former Pana graduate Claudia Magnussen ran with the Notre Dame girls at the Atlantic Coast Conference cross-country race on Friday. The Notre Dame boys won the meet, uprooting the former five-time champion Syracuse while the Notre Dame girls finished second.
