The Illinois High School Association moved to Stage 1 of their Return to Play guidelines as of Saturday, June 6. Until now, coaches have had to keep groups to 10 athletes or less and the athletes haven’t been allowed to do sport specific drills or do weightlifting that would require a spotter.
On Wednesday, the IHSA released their draft of their Stage 2 proposal that was sent to the IDPH for approval. No movement has been made on it yet, but Stage 2 correlates to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan outlined by governor J.B. Pritzker. Thursday, June 18, 2020

Course protocols certainly look a little different than they did last fall though.
Both Lakeshore Golf Course and Moweaqua Golf Course have highlighted some of the changes that come with golfing in a pandemic, and pool noodles are probably the biggest addition. Saturday, May 9, 2020
It was a foregone conclusion after Governor Pritzker canceled all in-person learning for Illinois schools last week, but the IHSA officially canceled all spring sports Tuesday afternoon. The IHSA Board of Directors met for their April meeting via a video conference call on Tuesday where the decision was announced formally.
“We support the decision by Governor Pritzker and the Illinois State Board of Education, and given the logistics, we simply felt we could not conduct state tournaments that meet the expectations of our member schools this spring, ” said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. “As disappointing as it may be for students, it is the right decision for their health and safety, as well as for the health and safety of the general public, as we cope with this unprecedented pandemic..” Wednesday, April 22, 2020
