The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 8, 2021, where it approved a State Series for traditional spring sports and announced that outdoor events will be open to fans at a twenty-percent capacity.
A State Series is now confirmed for Baseball, Softball, Bass Fishing, Girls Soccer, Journalism, and Boys & Girls Track & Field. “All tournaments are currently expected to conduct all rounds of competition, including a State Final. State Final qualifiers in some individual sports may be modified to better meet gathering mitigations. The State Series guidelines will be posted online and shared with coaches and school personnel later this week,” the announcement reads. Tuesday, March 9, 2021
