The Central A&M Raider softball team opened its postseason on Wednesday night when they hosted St. Teresa. Despite having three errors on the night, the Raiders were able to beat the Bulldogs 4-3 and advance to the Regional semifinal tonight at Argenta.

The Mohawk softball team hit the road on Tuesday as they traveled to Springfield to take on the Calvary/Lutheran co-op. The Mohawks scored one run in the second inning, but picked up eight in the third, and three in the fourth for their 11 runs while the Saints scored just one in the third.

Lincoln leaving Apollo, back to CS8
The Lincoln Railers will be leaving the Apollo Conference and re-joining the Central State 8 in the 2022-2023 season. It’s been quite a busy May for the Railers as they were extended in invitation to go back to the conference on May 2.

On May 10, the school had an emergency board meeting to weigh out the pros and cons of re-joining the CS8. On Monday night, the Railer school board voted to accept the invitation.

ISHA takes action on several issues including contact days
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 12, 2021, where the Board took action on several items, including a reduction in contact days this summer and setting several spring State Final dates.

In addition, the Board announced updates from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regarding masks for students competing in low-risk outdoor sports and activities.
