SPRINGFIELD — The Animal Protective League (APL), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, will hold its annual Chili Supper and Paw Paw Patch Bazaar on Sunday, October 27th, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2200 Meadowbrook Road, in Springfield. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $7 per person and includes chili (with or without meat), a hot dog or cornbread, dessert and drink. Participants may eat-in or carryout.
The annual Paw Paw Patch Bazaar will offer baked goods and many unique and seasonal craft items. APL clothing will be for sale and the organization will also be taking orders for Christmas greenery, which are sold each year to support APL and its programs. All proceeds from the annual chili supper and bazaar benefit APL homeless cats and dogs.
APL will also have adoptable animals on site in the Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Do you love to bake or enjoy making crafts? APL is seeking donations of both baked goods for the bake sale and craft items for the bazaar. Donations may be dropped at the shelter on Friday, October 25th from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Please note the shelter office is closed from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Items may also be dropped off Saturday, October 26th at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Meadowbrook Rd. from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and again on Sunday, October 27th from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
